Söderbergföretagen acquires Molybon group in Trelleborg

Söderbergföretagen is acquiring the plastics company Molybon in Trelleborg. Molybon has sales of approximately SEK 90 million and 65 employees. In addition to its operations in Trelleborg, Molybon has sales offices in Stockholm, Göteborg, Tidaholm and Asarum. The company enjoys a leading position as a supplier to the Nordic market. The acquisition reinforces Söderbergföretagen's position in plastics in the Nordic region by broadening its range of building plastics and media plastics and adding agency operations for plastics processing machines.

Molybon – a strong brand in Nordic plastics
Molybon was founded in 1968 by Axel Kaufmann in Trelleborg. In addition to processing and distributing semimanufactures and finished plastic parts, Molybon also has significant agency operations, marketing and selling machines and spare parts for plastics processing in Sweden and Norway.
Enhanced opportunities for customers
Söderbergföretagen's acquisition of Molybon offers customers access to another three strong plastics suppliers, STI Industriplast, Andrén & Söner and Elisolation, in addition to the expertise, service and solutions offered by Molybon. This means a stronger offering to the market with a wider range that includes building plastics, media plastics and agency operations for plastics processing machines and more internal synergies in purchasing, administration and logistics.

Via the acquisition, Molybon becomes a subsidiary of Söderbergföretagen. MD and founder Axel Kaufmann is leaving the company and his son Patrik Kaufmann is becoming MD.
